The original site was the Wenchang Hall, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
The memorial hall vividly re-creates the life of Hu Xueyan, showcasing his rise and fall in both business and the political world through a large collection of pictures, books, and artifacts. It is reported that the memorial has gathered nearly 1,000 items used by Hu Xueyan during his lifetime, with over 100 items currently on display.
